Trick or Treat Without the Cavities

This is the month where kids get to indulge in all the candy they want, but we have a few easy tips to keep their “treating” from becoming cavities.

These three simple steps will ensure your children’s teeth and gums stay strong and clean despite the Halloween goodies!

  1. Make sure to brush teeth twice a day for two minutes. Many kids’ toothbrushes have automatic lights or sounds that will alert you to when the time is up.

  2. Encourage flossing before bed. Simple kid-friendly floss is easy for little hands and makes a huge difference on really getting between teeth to keep their gums healthy.

  3. Use a child-friendly mouthwash. Children as young as six can begin a nightly fluoride rinse. This will help get any extra food off the teeth while also giving them additional fluoride to help prevent cavities.

Enjoy a safe, happy Halloween filled with lots of treating and brushing!
